The Rivers State deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2023 election, Tonto Dikeh has announced that she would not stop contesting for elections until she realized her ambition stressing that her chances of governing the oil-rich state in the future were both high and slim because politics is dirty.
The popular actress made this announcement known to the public while speaking during an interview with some newsmen in the nation's capital, Abuja during the GOTNI national leadership conference, which was organized by its National Leadership Centre, where she said that one thing she learned from contesting elections is to be resilience and never giving up.
According to Tonto Dikeh, she said, “One of the things I learned in contesting the election is to be resilience and never giving up. I know after four years, they will forget about me, and I am not going to come back, but instead, I will come back. Every four years, I am going to come back".
She also added by saying, "My chances of becoming a governor are high and slim because politics is dirty. It is not going to be free and fair because Wike’s candidate didn’t win the election, free and fair".
